Getting there

Today the weather was just as fickle and hard to forecast as was yesterday's, but the terrain was more level. During the morning stint, the only obstacle hindering our progress was a narrow lead. We sprightly sprung over it. One ski boot took a dip.

On the tenth leg of the day, Mother Nature told us that we should make camp for the night. We believed her. Visibility was again approaching zero due to whiteout and, furthermore, we stumbled into another rubble-strewn maze of pack ice. We had already posted a new distance record for the day: 24 km. These factors all considered, the decision to pitch camp was an easy one. Mother Nature is all-wise, and deserves listening to.

It was a good day, and all is well with the Expedition.
