Spring is in the air

After a rejuvenating day of rest, we once again made tracks for the Geographic North Pole. Spring was in the air: a gentle breeze with temperatures, for the first time during this trip, rising above – 20 C.

We were able to ski all day long using single-carry: advancing with all our gear on full sledges. Double-carry shuttling no longer seems necessary, since the going is getting easier, and our sledges lighter by the day. As a result, today's distance traveled was a new record for the Expedition, and our traveling time was the shortest yet.

This evening, the temperature once again dropped: by bedtime it was a crisp – 33C.

All is well with the Expedition.
